Hope Cove & Thurlestone Holiday Home rental

Hope Cove is a charming fishing village and a stunning escape away from the hustle and bustle of busier towns in the South Hams. Nestled into a sheltered cove behind Bolt Tail Hope offers a local pub, traditional village shop, local art gallery and a fabulous seafood restaurant.  With direct access to the South West coastal path Hope Cove is also the perfect spot for walkers to explore the dramatic coastline.

Follow the coastal path South and you will stumble upon Thurlestone protected by wild sand dunes and a large expanse of sandy beach. Thurlestone is a picturesque Devon village lined with thatched cottages and a popular village pub, excellent for local food and beer. There is also the fantastic Thurlestone golf course with spectacular views of the coastal countryside.

Hope Cove and Thurlestone both offer gorgeous sandy beaches, rock pools and clean sea focused around traditional Devon villages. An attractive option for couples and families with quieter holidays in mind.

BANTHAM, BIGBURY & BURGH ISLAND   

The sandy beaches of Bigbury, Bantham and Burgh Island make a perfect UK beach holiday destination. With copious amounts of flat sandy beach, Bantham and Bigbury are a top spot for beach activities. From kite flying to sandcastle building to beach volleyball and kite surfing.  Bantham is also a surfers paradise and has been voted one of the best beaches in Europe, with its surfable waves and spacious shoreline it is a great place for both keen surfers and those trying it out for the first time.  

Over the mouth of the Avon river you will find Bigbury. If it’s high tide, you’ll need to board the famous sea tractor to take you over to Burgh Island, home to the unique art deco Burgh Island Hotel. When the water is out you can wander over and spend time paddling and fishing in the rock pools. . Either way you can always enjoy a delicious pub lunch at the unique 13th century Pilchard Inn.

KINGSBRIDGE

A bustling traditional market town situated on the beautiful Kingsbridge estuary.  Centrally located to explore the lush green, rolling countryside of the South Hams as well as the pretty seaside villages and sandy Devon beaches.  Kingsbridge is popular place to be based for walkers, beach goers and sailing enthusiasts.

Fore Street is lined with an eclectic mix of independent boutiques, art galleries, antique and gift shops to explore. Scattered around the town are some great cafes, pubs and restaurants championing the best of local produce, craft beers and ales, and specialist gins and wines.

A tranquil ferry journey up the Kingsbridge Estuary takes you to Salcombe. Take a day trip to soak up the towns atmosphere, have a spot of lunch or explore its beaches. The Kingsbridge ferry service also offers extended harbour and creek cruises for those interested in seeing more of the local scenery and discovering the estuary’s wildlife.
